A Rich Gold Mining History

The Arrow River in Central Otago was a key site during New Zealand’s gold rush in the 1860s. The boom began in 1861 when Gabriel Read discovered gold near the Tuapeka River, drawing waves of prospectors. In October 1862, William Fox and John O’Callaghan uncovered gold in the Arrow River, igniting a significant rush that shaped the region’s history.

Otago Gold Projects

How We Mine, and Expected Gold Production

Focused on deposits too small for major companies but beyond the reach of individual prospectors, Otago Gold ensures profitability for our NFT holders through efficient operations using state of the art floating wash plants fed by a single excavator. Based on the current gold price, each wash plant is expected to recover 5 oz per day, which given the current gold price this equates to $27000 NZD per day (before our expected operating costs of 30%)

Upper and Lower Nevis Projects

These adjacent projects hold a combined estimated reserve of 12,0000 oz of gold. The Upper Nevis with its 10,000 oz is expected to deliver 10 oz per day from each wash plant while the Lower Nevis with its estimated 2000 oz of gold reserves should produce an additional 5 oz per day from each operational wash plant.

Pomahaka
Project

Featuring an active riverbed and an old paleo channel with an estimated reserve of 8000 Oz this will be the first project we expect to start in late 2025. Estimated production is 35 Oz per week. Recent testing now shows better than expected grades and a larger reserves than initially anticipated.
